Making Mental Health a Priority, for Managers

June 27, 2019
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Studebaker building, 622 W. 132 St., New York, NY 10027 - Conference Room 469

There is a growing movement to make talking about mental health a priority, especially in the workplace.

Join us at our upcoming EAP seminar for managers—Making Mental Health a Priority—and learn how to recognize signs that a colleague is struggling and begin a conversation that guides them to support.

To RSVP to the seminar, please email Andrew Jacobson: aj2863@columbia.edu.

After participating in this seminar, you will be better able to:

    • Understand the basics of common mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety
    • Consider how mental health conditions may affect the workplace
    • Recognize signs of emotional or psychological distress, as well as possible suicidality

Nearly 20 million adults in the U.S. receive mental health treatment each year. If you are one of them, take advantage of the support and treatment options included in your Columbia benefits, such as free, confidential 24/7 short-term counseling (by phone) through Columbia’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP): 888-673-1153.

Go to Columbia's Well-being website to learn about the EAP and other resources. And check out Humana's Columbia-specific website for more. If prompted, log in (Username: Columbia; Password: eap).
