Tips for Getting a Good Night’s Sleep

March 25, 2019
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Studebaker building, 622 W. 132 St., New York, NY 10027 - Conference Room 469

Are you getting enough sleep? Are you getting enough good sleep? If you have trouble sleeping, you may feel like there’s little you can do. However, by following recommendations known as “sleep hygiene,” you may be able to get the rest you need.

If you want to improve your sleep, join us for Tips for a Good Night’s Sleep, an EAP seminar.

After participating in this seminar, you will be better able to:

  • Understand the roots of sleep problems
  • Identify ways to improve your ability to fall asleep and stay asleep
  • Change your habits to improve your sleep
To RSVP to the seminar, please email Andrew Jacobson at aj2863@columbia.edu.

Can’t attend in person? Try these...

3 Tips for Satisfying Sleep:
  1. Give your brain a break from phone, computer and other screens before bedtime
  2. Avoid stimulants like smoking, caffeine or large meals in the hours leading up to bedtime
  3. Increase daily exercise, even just a walk around the block may help

Go to Columbia's Well-being website to learn about the EAP and other resources. They have a Sleep Health page too. And check out Humana’s Columbia-specific website for more, such as "Sleep and the high-performing adult". If prompted, log in (Username: Columbia; Password: eap).
