Action required to receive future payroll from Columbia University

The following email has been sent to each individual who is receiving a paper paycheck this week.  There will be two pick up locations, one at Morningside and one at CUIMC this week, as described below:

Dear Colleague,

With the possibility of a shelter in place, we need you to sign up for direct deposit to guarantee receipt of pay. You are receiving this email because you have not responded to repeated requests to sign up for direct deposit for your payroll checks. (Please note this is separate from a student account. Your direct deposit set-up in SSOL is used for student refunds and does not apply here.)

While we plan to have this week’s physical payroll checks distributed from a central location on each campus, available for pick in person, the COVID-19 situation continues to change. Following the issued guidance on social distancing, and with the possibility of a shelter in place order for NYC now in the news, if you want to ensure you are paid timely it is imperative to sign up for direct deposit to minimize risk to you and others. Managing individual requests will be extremely challenging, and you will experience a delay in our ability to get you a paycheck.

Should it be possible the pick-up locations follow.   This will change based on any shelter in place order.
