Here are frequently asked questions and answers regarding the current negotiations between UnitedHealthcare and New York-Presbyterian.

Q: What is happening? 
A: UnitedHealthcare (UHC) and New York-Presbyterian (NYP) are currently in active negotiations to renew their long-term business relationship. If they are unable to reach agreement by January 1, 2026, NYP will no longer be a part of the UHC network 

Q: How will this affect my UnitedHealthCare coverage? 
A: This will not affect your current insurance coverage with UnitedHealthcare. The only impacted facilities are New York-Presbyterian institutions. 

Q: What if I see a physician at NYP that is associated with ColumbiaDoctors or Weill-Cornell? 
A: Regardless of whether an agreement is reached prior to January 1, ColumbiaDoctors and Weill-Cornell Doctors will remain in network after January 1.

You and your covered dependents will be able to continue to access care at NYP facilities, including Columbia Doctors and Weill-Cornell Doctors, at the same in-network level of benefit.

Q: Is more information available to me? 
A: UnitedHealthcare is planning to send a formal letter that directly details any NYP facility and/or provider you and/or your dependents have used in the past 18 months that is directly impacted by this potential contract termination.
