Affiliate Registration

Fall 2023 Registration opens in September

Learning & Development workshops are available to Columbia University affiliates, including: Barnard College, Jewish Theological Seminary, Manhattan School of Music, Teachers College, and other members of the University community.

Learning & Development offers a variety of virtual workshops via Zoom, with a selection of in-person workshops (specified in the class details).

All workshops provide skill building and professional enrichment, through a variety of methods. Virtual sessions will simulate an in-person classroom experience featuring individual and group activities. Workshops are divided into categories to help you decide on the best course fit for you.

Please review the Affiliate Registration & Cancellation Policies section below, prior to registering.

Registration & Payment:

Affiliates may register for a course by creating an account in the Affiliate version of the Enterprise Learning Management system (ELM)Review the How to create an Account in ELM for Affiliates of CU job aid for detailed instructions on how to do this, paying special attention to the Security Key.

After your ELM account has been setup, please login to ELM to register for a workshop. For guidance, you may access the How to register for a Course for Affiliates of CU job aid for detailed instructions on how to register for one of our L&D workshops.

Once registration is confirmed in ELM and payment has been received, you will get Zoom details for the workshop, and instructions on how to prepare for class. This will arrive to your inbox 1-2 days prior to the workshop start.

Affiliate Registration & Cancellation Policies

Payment: When registering for a course in ELM, you will be prompted to provide a credit card to process payment. Accepted cards include: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

Refunds: Should you choose to cancel your registration, please note that it may take up to 3 months to process the reimbursement.

Email [email protected] if you need further assistance.

Course registrations should be canceled at least seven days prior to the scheduled workshop date to ensure the full cost is waived. If the cancellation is not received within seven days, the full cost of the course will be charged to the registrant. The cancellation period allows wait-listed participants an opportunity to attend.

If you cancel a course at least seven days in advance, a refund will be processed for the cost of the course to be returned to your credit card. Reimbursements may take up to 3 months to process.

In the event that a workshop is currently at capacity, you have the option to request a seat on the waitlist. You will be notified of this at your time of registration in ELM.

As an affiliate, in the event that you request to be placed on the waitlist, you are required to provide payment via credit card. Your card will then be charged the full amount of the class. Should a seat not become available, or you choose to cancel your registration, you will then be issued a refund.

Please note that reimbursements may take up to 3 months to process.

* Note about in-person workshops: Most workshops will be virtual with the exception of a few in-person, on the Manhattanville campus and at CUIMC. The decision to offer workshops in person is subject to change, as we continue to survey the current climate.
