Webinar

In a rapidly changing and volatile world, we may experience a range of crises that can impact our mental health and well-being. Events such as conflict, violence, political and economic instability, social unrest, climate-related disasters, pandemics, and other threats to our health and safety, can trigger anxiety—regardless of whether they occur nearby or far away.

How we respond to these crises, especially when overwhelmed by the constant stream of news and social media, can deeply affect our well-being.

This workshop explores how exposure to crisis events, including media overexposure, can impact mental and emotional health. Participants will learn practical strategies to cope and support their well-being in challenging times.

Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the influence of media exposure to crisis on wellbeing.
  • Identify the health impacts of media overload, particularly related to crises.
  • Practice positive coping techniques for managing and attending to the impact of media overload.
  • Explore ways to support wellbeing during contexts of crisis exposure.
