Speaker: Ron Barthel, Senior Director, Cybersecurity Awareness for TIAA, TIAA
Ron is a senior member of TIAA’s Cybersecurity organization and currently serves as Senior Director of Cybersecurity Awareness. In this capacity Ron oversees a broad program that educates TIAA clients and the TIAA workforce on their accountability with Cybersecurity. Ron also serves as co-chair of SPARK & FS-ISAC’s joint Retirement Industry Council. Ron previously served as Business Information Security Officer for TIAA’s institutional business and managed TIAA’s cyber risk assessment function. Ron graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Science in 1999 and has worked in IT, IT Risk Management and Cybersecurity for over 20 years. Ron joined TIAA in 2014 and just completed his Master’s degree in Cybersecurity at NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering. Ron and his family moved to Charlotte, NC from Connecticut in 2016 and he is an avid tennis player.
