CUHR Connection: September 2025

September 24, 2025

Dear colleagues,

Welcome to the September edition of Your CUHR (Columbia University Human Resources) Connection, designed to provide a snapshot of what Human Resources offers you.

News

  • We still want to hear about your workplace climate experience. If you have not yet shared your perspective, we encourage you to take 15 minutes today to complete Columbia’s Employee Climate and Engagement Survey before it closes on Friday, Sept. 26.
  • Columbia University Facilities Operations (CUFO), Columbia Health, and the Office of Alumni Relations & Development are partnering to pilot a mentorship program, matching early-career staff from all three departments with Columbia University leaders.
  • Faculty and staff from Morningside, Manhattanville, Lamont-Doherty, and Nevis Laboratories campuses are eligible for the walk-in flu vaccination event hosted by Columbia Health from Sept. 29-Oct. 1 on the Morningside campus and Oct. 8 in Manhattanville. No appointment needed: just bring your CUID.

Your Benefits

  • As a Columbia employee, you are eligible to navigate complicated health care situations with Advocate4Me – the front door to an enhanced benefits experience for United Healthcare members. Health advocates can answer medical, Optum Rx, Optum Behavioral and Optum Financial inquiries without transfers.
  • Open Enrollment will take place from Nov. 3-21, 2025. To prepare for Open Enrollment, review and update your information on my.Columbia and watch a one-minute video that shows the changes to the CUBES enrollment site.
