Welcome to the August edition of Your CUHR (Columbia University Human Resources) Connection, designed to provide a snapshot of what Human Resources offers you.
News
- For staff and faculty who may be new to Columbia University at the start of this academic year, there are several resources available to you. Welcome to Columbia!
- After more than five years, New York State’s pioneering COVID-19 paid sick leave law officially came to an end on July 31, 2025. With the law no longer in place, employees will need to rely on other existing leave options if needed.
Your Benefits
- If you are a new employee, the primary I-9 center for the Morningside and Manhattanville campuses is Columbia University Human Resources, located on the fourth floor of the Studebaker Building (615 West 131st Street). At Columbia University Irving Medical Center, the main location is the Georgian Building (617 West 168th Street). Here are more details before you complete the Form I-9.
- TIAA and Vanguard retirement planning specialists are available for one-on-one consultations throughout the year. Both vendors offer dates and times specific to Columbia University employees. You do not have to be enrolled in a Columbia University retirement savings plan to call a retirement planning specialist. If you’d like to make an appointment, visit the TIAA and Vanguard websites.
