Welcome to the New Year edition of Your CUHR (Columbia University Human Resources) Connection, designed to provide a snapshot of what Human Resources offers you.
News
- If you registered for electronic delivery of your W-2, that form will be sent to you no later than January 31, 2026. Forms 1042-S and 1099 will also be sent to you no later than January 31, 2026. If you have not received those forms by Monday, February 2, please contact the HR Service Center.
- In other tax news, employers are no longer required to automatically send 1095-C forms to all full-time employees, under the Paperwork Burden Reduction Act. This month, you will receive notification from Columbia’s Benefits Service Center about the delivery changes. A notice will be placed on CUBES when requested forms will be available.
Your Benefits
- Effective January 1, 2026, if you earn more than $150,000 and have elected to make catch-up contributions, you must contribute to the Roth post-tax option. Catch-up contributions for all employees also will increase for 2026. Review the 2026 IRS limits here.
- If you have yet to submit claims from healthcare or dependent care expenses in 2025, you have until March 31 to submit them through myuhc.com. While any money left in your Dependent Care FSA from 2025 will be forfeited, a balance of up to $680 in your Healthcare FSA can be rolled over to 2026. More info on Tax Savings.
