April 09, 2026

Dear colleagues,

Welcome to the April edition of Your CUHR (Columbia University Human Resources) Connection, designed to provide a snapshot of what Human Resources offers you.

News

  • As artificial intelligence continues to play a larger role in our professional lives, there are several University resources available to help faculty and staff engage with AI thoughtfully and responsibly. Use this page to learn about AI, explore how it can support your work, and apply it responsibly in alignment with Columbia's mission.
  • Join us for the remaining three Take a Break sessions of the semester. The next one will take place on Wednesday, April 15 from 12:30 – 1 p.m. Take a Break is a short mindfulness practice designed to help you pause and recharge during the day. Register here.

Your Benefits

  • You and your loved ones have access to Wellthy, a caregiving support solution that meets you and your family wherever you are in your adult/elder caregiving journey. If you’re currently navigating an adult/elder care situation (e.g., surgery, injury, new diagnosis, aging) for yourself or a loved one, create a Care Project to get matched with a dedicated Wellthy care expert who will get to know your needs, and handle those time-consuming and confusing care tasks on your behalf. For more information, visit https://humanresources.columbia.edu/content/resources-for-caregivers.
  • If you take mass transit, or drive to work, the Transit/Parking Reimbursement Program (T/PRP) is a convenient way to pay for commuting expenses with pre-tax dollars, deducted directly from your paycheck each month. You can learn more about your options and how to make your election in CUBES.
  • Interested in professional development? Columbia University’s Learning & Development department has workshops throughout May, including a two-day experience titled The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People®The cost of that workshop is payable by departmental chartstring.
