CUHR Connection: May 2026

May 12, 2026

Dear colleagues,

Welcome to the May edition of Your CUHR (Columbia University Human Resources) Connection, designed to provide a snapshot of what Human Resources offers you.

News

  • May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a good time to slow things down, take stock, and reset. Tap into the tools and support available to you on the Well-Being Resources homepage, including EAP counseling, sleep support and physical fitness programs.
  • Take a Break is a short mindfulness practice designed to help you pause and recharge during the day. View a recorded session and learn how you can bring a Take a Break session or other well-being programming to your department.

Your Benefits

  • You and your loved ones have access to Wellthy, a caregiving support solution that meets you and your family wherever you are in your adult/elder caregiving journey. If you’re currently navigating an adult/elder care situation (e.g., surgery, injury, new diagnosis, aging) for yourself or a loved one, create a Care Project to get matched with a dedicated Wellthy care expert who will get to know your needs, and handle those time-consuming and confusing care tasks on your behalf.  For more information, visit https://humanresources.columbia.edu/content/resources-for-caregivers.
  • If you are considering or planning for retirement, you can schedule a retirement facilitation with a staff member in the University's Benefits Service Center. Schedule an appointment by emailing [email protected] or call 212-851-7000. You can also schedule a consultation session with a TIAA or Vanguard advisor, in person at Columbia, or over the phone.
