CUHR Connection: June 2025

June 30, 2025

Dear colleagues,

Welcome to the June edition of Your CUHR (Columbia University Human Resources) Connection, designed to provide a snapshot of what Human Resources offers you.

News

  • As we complete the end of this fiscal year, the HR Toolkit’s Training Library has training materials if you need a refresher on how to complete timesheet and absence management processes. Browse the courses now.
  • Need to take a break during your workday but want to stay inside during the hot weather? Kevin Myers, Columbia’s ergonomist, has created an on-demand stretching and meditation session you can do in fewer than 20 minutes. Watch the video when you need some time to reset.

Your Benefits

  • Effective July 1, Columbia University is using a two-document verification process for all new spouses joining the medical, dental or optional vision plans. To have a spouse join a plan, you must provide a civil/legal marriage certificate AND an additional supporting document, which can be found on the Dependent Eligibility webpage.
  • If you take mass transit, or drive to work, the Transit/Parking Reimbursement Program (T/PRP) is a convenient way to pay for commuting expenses with pre-tax dollars, deducted directly from your paycheck each month. You can learn more about your options and how to make your election in CUBES.
