Take a moment to check in

Worrying about what could go wrong. Replaying conversations. Struggling to make a decision. Everyone experiences fear and worry at times. But when the anxiety is persistent or extreme, take the time to address it.

Columbia University supports you with mental well-being resources that are available whenever you need them, including counseling, podcasts and webinars through the Employee Assistance Program.


4-7-8 breathing:

  • Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds
  • Hold the breath for 7 seconds
  • Exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds

Repeat 3 more times.
