Summer 2024 - Submit College Tuition Scholarship Applications

May 06, 2024

The Summer 2024 term is quickly approaching. To ensure the College Tuition Scholarship (CTS) benefit application process goes smoothly, please review the information below. An eligible Officer must apply each term; one application per child.

Summer Terms:

  • The CTS program will cover an eligible student for summer terms. This is in addition to the eight (8) semesters (or equivalent number of trimesters or quarters) already allotted, provided that the summer courses are taken after the dependent child has matriculated for the first semester of study and the summer courses are taken during those years in which the student is eligible for the eight semesters of fall or spring term CTS. The dependent child must provide written proof from their college or university on the institution’s letterhead that they are a student in good standing, and that the summer courses are required as part of their academic program. Please see the Student in Good Standing Letter to assist you in securing this information.

Study Abroad:

  • The CTS program will cover summer study abroad programs if the following requirements are met:
    • Your eligible student is registered for an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university (other than Columbia or Barnard College)
    • The courses must be eligible for coverage under the CTS if another accredited Academic institution bills the tuition costs. Note:  Third-Party Study Abroad Programs, not billed through the college or university, are not covered.
    • Similar to other summer terms, please provide proof that the student is in good standing (see Summer Terms section above).

Your Child’s Itemized Tuition Bill:

  • To ensure your Summer 2024 CTS Benefit application is processed in a timely manner, please submit it to EBPA, the CTS administrator, as soon as you receive your child’s itemized college tuition bill. Please consult the CTS Checklist to ensure all requested and required information is provided as part of your application submission to avoid any processing delays. Your completed application must provide all the information requested; please don’t leave any sections blank. EBPA will email you requesting missing information and your application will be in a “Pending” status until all missing information is received. Please note: Missing information delays processing. Please respond and provide missing information as quickly as possible!
  • Traditional or online student account bills (e-bills) are accepted. The bill must include:
    • College or university name or logo;
    • Dependent child’s name;
    • Itemized tuition amounts;
    • School Year - Semester/trimester/quarter the student is attending;
    • Dollar value of any scholarship, grants, and/or awards received; and
    • Payment mailing address information. If payment mailing address information is not printed on the online student account e-bill, provide a copy from the official website that confirms payment mailing address information, and submit it with your CTS application.
