Upcoming Exclusive Columbia University Webinar

Parenting the Early Years (0-6 years)
Tuesday, May 21: 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Register Here

Infants and toddlers develop rapidly and before long, they are no longer babies—a stage of growth that can be exciting and enjoyable. This seminar will provide insights into the developmental needs of children aged zero to six. Participants will learn about age-appropriate behaviors and emotions, routines and relationships, ways to prepare toddlers for school, and tips that can be applied to create a safe environment without excessive limits and restrictions.

Parenting the Tween Years (7-12 years)
Thursday, May 23: 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Register Here

Parents with children in their tween years, aged 7 to 12, are faced with unique challenges, as are their children. While these kids are no longer toddlers, they are not yet ready for the increased level of independence teenagers frequently experience. This seminar will give participants insight into parenting children in this age group and share information about developmental and behavioral issues, peer group dynamics, puberty, responsibility, and discipline. Participants will discuss valuable strategies designed to make this stage of their child’s growth safe, satisfying, and enjoyable.

Positive Parenting
Wednesday, May 29: 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Register Here

Your toddler has been having a tantrum every time you run errands. Your preschooler refuses to go to bed. Your 6-year-old has been hitting his little sister. Every child is different, but chances are that more than once you’ve found yourself wondering how on Earth you can teach your child to behave. This seminar identifies how to use positive parenting to help guide and improve your child’s behavior, as an alternative to yelling, nagging, and punishing.

Additional Upcoming Webinars

Increasing Mental Toughness
Friday, May 3: 2 – 2:30 p.m.
Register Here

The goal of this seminar is to provide participants with the opportunity to reflect on the challenges of the past year, to recognize opportunities for growth in the face of adversity. We will discuss what it means to be mentally tough, how to find the positive in negative circumstances, manage ambiguity, and react with agility to change. Finally, we will dive into the importance of ‘grit’, defined by Dr. Angela Duckworth as ‘passion and sustained persistence applied toward long-term achievement’, which is a much-needed skill for both personal and professional growth in today's world.

Parenting Your Teen: Managing Conflict and Problem Solving
Friday, May 17: 2 – 2:30 p.m.
Register Here

Conflict between parents and teenagers is a fact of life. In this seminar, parents explore ways to help their teenagers resolve conflicts and establish guidelines for acceptable behavior. The goal is for your teen to become a mature young adult who is capable of making good decisions independently, so they can manage their life in appropriate, autonomous ways.
