Columbia University is proud to offer fertility and family building benefits that guide you through all of life's milestones, including family planning, pregnancy and postpartum, and menopause and midlife health.
Starting January 1, 2027, fertility and family building benefits will be provided by Progyny. Current Maven members will automatically be enrolled with Progyny.
Meet Progyny
Progyny is your guide through all of life's milestones offering personalized support for family planning and trying-to-conceive, fertility and family building, pregnancy and postpartum, and menopause and midlife care. Members receive concierge 1:1 support from a Progyny Care Advocate (PCA), care from expert providers, and exclusive doctor-approved resources in the Progyny app.
Below are all of the programs available through Progyny:
- Family Planning and Trying-to-Conceive Support: Receive personalized coaching and digital resources to understand your reproductive health and support your family building goals. Get guidance on nutrition, ovulation and intercourse tracking, a variety of mental health resources, and more.
- Fertility and Family Building: Access top fertility specialists and counseling for every path to parenthood. Get comprehensive treatment and Rx coverage for fertility care, including IUI, IVF, egg/sperm freezing, and more. Financial assistance is also available to help cover eligible adoption and surrogacy related expenses.
- Pregnancy and Postpartum: Support throughout pregnancy and up to 12 months postpartum with personalized check-ins and unlimited communication with a Progyny Care Advocate (PCA). Speak to labor and delivery nurses, receive referrals to lactation specialists, plus access a library of educational resources for each milestone.
- Menopause and Midlife Care: Guidance that starts at the earliest symptoms of perimenopause. Access virtual care and get a personalized treatment plan for relief from a network of menopause specialists, with the latest treatment options available. Columbia University fully covers your Progyny membership, if you are enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare medical plan. There is no cost for Progyny's resources, including PCA support and the app.

Starting November 2, 2026, call Progyny at 844-866-9845. When prompted, select the option to speak with a PCA, who are available Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am – 9:00 pm ET to answer all of your questions, as often as you need them.
Transitioning from Maven
We are committed to making your transition from Maven to Progyny as smooth as possible, and ensuring you have the information, resources, and support you need every step of the way.
If you're currently receiving fertility treatment and your care will continue after January 1, 2027, we encourage you to contact Progyny as soon as possible to understand your options and access the support available to you during the transition. To see whether your provider participates in the Progyny network, visit providersearch.progyny.com. If your provider is not part of Progyny's network, your Progyny Care Advocate (PCA) can help guide you on next steps.

Perinatal Rapid Access Model
Columbia Psychiatry's Perinatal Rapid Access Model (PRAM) offers rapid access to psychiatric and psychological evaluation to plan participants and their covered partners who are expecting a child, or are new parents. Schedule an initial visit through Connect after answering a brief set of questions about yourself or your covered partner.
